Bonzo alternatives for loan officers: Leaf360 compared honestly
Bonzo is a conversation automation tool: text, email, ringless voicemail and video messages on a schedule, built to keep a loan officer in constant contact. Its own fans say the same thing its critics do: it is not a full CRM. There is no digital 1003, no client portal, and no native connection to the major loan origination systems, so it sits on top of another system. Leaf360 is the AI Operating System for mortgage: the follow-up engine is inside it, written per client by Lia rather than scheduled from a sequence, and the CRM, the LOS sync, the wholesale marketplace and the compliant phone system are all the same product. Choose Bonzo if you already have a CRM you like and only want a texting layer. Choose Leaf360 if you want one system.

Choose Bonzo if
- You have a CRM you are keeping and want only a texting and video follow-up layer on top of it.
- Your team is small, relationship-driven, and lives in text; you do not need pipeline reporting or an LOS connection.
Choose Leaf360 if
- You want one system for pipeline, partners, follow-up, wholesale and calling instead of a stack of tools.
- You want the AI to build and run the work from plain language, not another builder to configure.
- You want to start free today, with published pricing and no implementation project.
What Bonzo is, and how it works
A conversation automation platform for loan officers: text, email, ringless voicemail and video on a schedule, sitting on top of whatever CRM you already have.
You load contacts, assign them to sequences, and Bonzo sends personal-feeling texts, emails, ringless voicemails and video messages on the schedule you set. Replies land in a conversation inbox. It is deliberately narrow: keep the loan officer in constant, human-sounding contact.
Bonzo's own positioning and its reviewers agree that it is an engagement engine that works alongside a CRM, not instead of one. There is no digital 1003, no client portal, and no native connection to the major loan origination systems.

What Bonzo solves, and what it doesn't
Where it is genuinely good
- Multi-channel follow-up that feels personal, at scale.
- Customizable messaging and an active support team, per positive reviews.
Where a mortgage originator runs out of road
- Not a full CRM: no LOS integration, no application, no portal, so you still need another system.
- Sequences are scheduled, not written per client from context.
- Recent reviews report support disappearing, texts failing to send and phone verification stuck for months.
- No wholesale marketplace, no compliant phone system as a product.
What reviewers say about Bonzo
Summarized from public listings and trade press, September 2026: G2, Capterra, Software Advice. Read the originals before you decide; we did.
They praise
- Message customization; responsive support in earlier reviews.
They complain about
- A three-year user describing support that vanished; six months waiting on number verification; paid setup requests unfulfilled.
Where I stand on Bonzo
Not a review site's verdict. Mine. I built Leaf360 because I ran a mortgage business on the tools on this page.
Christian Mourra
Founder, Leaf360. Still originating.
Bonzo solved a real problem: loan officers do not follow up, so automate the follow-up. I agree with the diagnosis.
I disagree with the cure. A scheduled sequence is still a template with a timer. Lia writes each touch from what she knows about that client and that file, decides the channel, and pauses when the LOS says the loan is under contract. And it happens inside the system that holds the pipeline, the partners and the compliance rules, so there is no second tool to keep in sync.
Why I built an operating system instead of a better CRM
I ran my mortgage business across seven tools and a spreadsheet. Every CRM I tried was a database that waited for me to do the work: enter the lead, remember the follow-up, notice the file changed in the LOS, keep the compliance rules in my head. The tools got better every year and my Sunday nights did not.
So here is what I believe, and what every comparison on this site is judged against.

The CRM era is over.
A CRM is a place to put people. It does not call them, write to them, or know when the loan moved. Total Expert now says the same thing to banks. We say it to the loan officer.
The system should do the work.
You tell Lia what you need in plain language. She builds the campaign, the workflow, the partner note, and waits for your approval where it matters. Agentic, not automated.
One system beats seven.
Pipeline, partners, follow-up, calling, compliance and wholesale in one place, so nothing falls between tools.
Open beats walled.
Leaf360 connects to 21 systems, and Lia works inside Claude and ChatGPT through our MCP server. We do not have an LOS to protect.
You should not need a sales call to find out.
Free plan, no card, published pricing, no setup fee. If a competitor is the better choice for you, the page says so.
