Follow Up Boss integration: setup and what syncs.

Two connections, one deal. Agents share a client from inside Follow Up Boss and watch the loan’s status there; your workflows in Leaf360 can push a person, a note or a task back into Follow Up Boss. This page is the setup and the data. For the day-to-day experience, read the FUB Experience.

Two ways the systems connect

They solve different problems.

The embedded app, for agents

Leaf360 appears on the lead’s profile inside Follow Up Boss. The agent shares the client with you from the embedded app, then follows the loan’s status, milestones and the activity tally there. The referral reaches you in Leaf360 with the name, phone, email and notes the agent sent.

The workflow step, for your automations

Inside the Leaf360 workflow builder, a Follow Up Boss step runs when a trigger you chose fires. It can create or update a person, add a note or create a task in Follow Up Boss, matched on the record that fired the trigger or on email.

What syncs to the agent's Follow Up Boss

Field by field, as Follow Up Boss documents it.

  • Basic information on the shared client: full name, phone, email and any notes the agent includes on the referral. Nothing else about the client is shared at that point.
  • Loan application status: live updates as the mortgage moves.
  • Document status: received, pending or required.
  • Loan types and details: the products considered or approved.
  • Key financing dates such as application submitted, approval, financing contingencies and closing.
  • Task updates for the agent, the loan officer or the client, and notifications either side shares.
  • A tally of inbound and outbound calls, texts and emails between the client and the loan officer's team, in the activity tab, without the contents.

Before you connect

Four things to have ready.

A Follow Up Boss API key

Created in Follow Up Boss under Admin, then API: Create API Key, name it Leaf360, copy it. Once your team's admin and owner enable the integration, every agent on the team is set up automatically.

The key entered in Leaf360

In Leaf360, Company Settings, then Integrations: paste the Follow Up Boss key and save.

Your LOS connected, for live statuses

The status updates agents see come from the loan officer's LOS. Today that is the direct Arive connection: portal URL, Client ID, Client Secret and API Key, the same credentials the Arive page describes.

Agents connected to you

An agent signs in to the Leaf360 portal and invites the loan officers they work with. Once connected, the agent picks any of them from the loan officer dropdown when sharing.

Connecting Arive is its own set of steps, with screens: the Arive integration page.

What the workflow step can do

Three actions. Your trigger decides when.

Create or update a person

Push the record that fired the trigger into Follow Up Boss as a person, or update the one already there.

Add a note

Write a note onto that person's Follow Up Boss record, with the merge fields your workflow fills in.

Create a task

Put a task on the Follow Up Boss side with a name, due date and notes, optionally assigned to a Follow Up Boss user.

What it looks like on one referral

An agent, a loan officer and a buyer, with the pieces this integration actually does.

  1. An agent opens a buyer’s profile in Follow Up Boss and shares the client with you from the Leaf360 app. The buyer’s name, phone, email and the agent’s note come through to you in Leaf360.
  2. You take the application in Arive. As the file moves, its status and milestones show in the agent’s Follow Up Boss without you updating them by hand.
  3. Your team calls and texts the buyer from Leaf360. The agent’s activity tab shows that the contact happened, not what was said.
  4. A workflow you built on a lead or loan trigger adds a note to the buyer’s record in the agent’s Follow Up Boss, or creates a task there, with the details your trigger carried.
  5. At closing, the financing dates the agent has been watching in Follow Up Boss are the same ones on your loan record in Leaf360.

Limits, stated plainly

  • Live loan statuses in the agent's Follow Up Boss depend on the loan officer's LOS being connected. Follow Up Boss's article names Arive as the direct connection today and lists others as expanding, so treat any other LOS as unconfirmed until it is on the Arive page's footing.
  • The activity tally shows that calls, texts and emails happened, not what was said in them.
  • The workflow step does three things: create or update a person, add a note, create a task. It is not a full two-way sync of every field, and it runs when a trigger you chose fires, not on its own.
  • The workflow step authorizes as the company or as the workflow's user, and matches the person on the trigger record or on email; pick the one that fits how your team shares records.
  • We do not quote a setup time. It depends on having the Follow Up Boss key, the LOS credentials and the agents' invitations in hand.

Follow Up Boss keeps its own listing of the integration: Leaf360 on Follow Up Boss . Plans and what each includes are on the pricing page.

Questions loan officers ask

What does the agent see in Follow Up Boss after sharing a client with me?

The Leaf360 embedded app on that lead's profile: the loan's status and milestones in the status tab, and a tally of calls, texts and emails between the client and your team in the activity tab. Follow Up Boss's own help article lists the synced information field by field.

What is shared when an agent refers a client to me?

The client's full name, email, phone number and any notes the agent adds on the referral. Nothing else at that point.

Do I have to update statuses by hand for the agent to see them?

Not once your LOS is connected. With Arive connected and the agent connected to you, status updates populate in the agent's Follow Up Boss on their own.

Does every agent on a team have to turn it on?

No. Once your team's admin and owner enable the integration, every agent on the team is set up automatically.

Can an agent work with more than one loan officer?

Yes. The agent invites each loan officer from the Leaf360 portal and chooses from the loan officer dropdown when sharing a client.

What is the difference between this page and the FUB Experience page?

This page is setup and data behavior. The FUB Experience page explains how loan officers and Realtors work together inside Follow Up Boss day to day.

Get Started with Follow Up Boss + Leaf360

Leaf360 connects to Follow Up Boss two ways: an embedded app on the agent’s lead profile that shares clients and shows live loan status, and a workflow step in Leaf360 that creates or updates a person, adds a note or creates a task in Follow Up Boss.
